(SAN FRANCISCO) July 23, 2008 – Midway through 2008, Heller Ehrman LLP ranks among the most active legal advisors handling M&A and PIPE transactions, according to league tables published this month.
Thomson Reuters ranks Heller Ehrman among the most active firms in several M&A categories in its second quarter league tables, including a top 20 ranking among the top U.S. law firms and a top 25 ranking based on worldwide M&A activity. The global information company reported that Heller Ehrman completed 25 transactions during the first half of 2008, totaling an announced deal value of more than $40 billion.

Heller Ehrman also ranks among the top five issuer counsel in PlacementTracker’s league tables, which track Private Investments in Public Equities (PIPE) market activity. Heller Ehrman is ranked No. 5, based on the number of PIPE transactions it completed (seven deals) during the first half of 2008. The firm is ranked No. 2, based on the total dollars raised as issuer counsel.
